Upward Bound House is committed to eliminating homelessness among families with children in the community by providing housing, supportive services, and advocacy.

Founded in 1990 by First United Methodist Church of Santa Monica, Upward Bound House provides emergency and transitional shelter, permanent housing, and a two-year aftercare case management program for families with children experiencing homelessness. Programs include the Family Place and Family Shelter, education support, workforce development, behavioral health services, a food pantry, and an urban farm. The organization serves 200+ families annually and reports a 95% success rate moving families into stability.
