Promoting healing, power, and opportunity for formerly incarcerated women by providing safe housing, legal services, advocacy, and leadership development to rebuild lives and reunite families after incarceration.

Founded in 1998 by Susan Burton, A New Way of Life Reentry Project (ANWOL) is a nationally recognized, Black-led Los Angeles organization providing transitional and safe housing, case management, pro bono legal clinics (including record-clearing/expungement help in Watts and Long Beach), advocacy, and leadership development for formerly incarcerated women and their families. ANWOL has housed over 1,800 formerly incarcerated women and reunited more than 400 women with their children.
