Theodore Payne Foundation operates a native plant nursery in Sun Valley offering more than 400 native plant species and 200 seed species, the oldest nursery in LA County devoted exclusively to native plants. It runs classes for adults and families, field trips, and in-classroom programs for children covering native plant horticulture and design, plant-animal relationships, irrigation, rainwater harvesting, and edible/medicinal native plants. Major public programs include the Annual Native Plant Garden Tour and the seasonal Wild Flower Hotline.
