Heal The Bay

Heal the Bay is an environmental nonprofit established in 1985 that is dedicated to making the coastal waters and watersheds in Greater Los Angeles safe, healthy, and clean.

Heal the Bay organizes volunteer beach cleanups and community action programs across Greater Los Angeles. It monitors coastal water quality and publishes the Beach Report Card and River Report Card, which grade beaches and freshwater sites on bacteria levels. The organization operates the Heal the Bay Aquarium at the Santa Monica Pier, offering education programs, camps, and field trips, and conducts science-based policy advocacy on water and coastal issues.
