Empowers the children and families of Watts through educational, advocacy, and enrichment programs.
Founded in 1999 by Father Peter Banks, Friends of St. Lawrence-Watts Youth Center (FOSL) is a South Los Angeles community hub serving roughly 40,000 area residents. Programs include The Literacy Center (peer tutoring for K-12 students), scholarships for elementary and high school students, adult ESL classes, family legal advocacy, tax-advice services, and high school mentoring/college-prep support.
