Friends of SCLARC, in partnership with the South Central Los Angeles Regional Center, works to improve the lives of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities -- including autism, cerebral palsy, and epilepsy -- by developing supportive housing and services for families in South Los Angeles.
Friends of SCLARC, Inc. meets the needs of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) by offering housing and daily-living support, helping families build a foundation for long-term housing stability and greater wellness. Over the past decade the organization has acquired and developed seventeen residential homes for individuals with developmental disabilities placed in the community through the Community Placement Plan (CPP). Services include housing education, independent living skills coaching, and workforce development opportunities. Friends of SCLARC serves families in South Los Angeles and the surrounding communities of Watts, Compton, Downey, Lynwood, Paramount, Bell, Bell Gardens, Huntington Park, South Gate, Carson, and Cudahy who receive services at the South Central Los Angeles Regional Center.
