El Centro de Ayuda (ECDA) has served low-income families in Northeast Los Angeles/Boyle Heights for over 35 years. Through the Boyle Heights FamilySource Center, a one-stop-shop, it offers children/youth and adult education and training programs, outpatient mental health counseling, financial coaching and empowerment services, free income tax assistance and ITIN applications, employment services, and the Low Income Fare is Easy (LIFE) transportation subsidy program. Originally founded in 1981 as a substance abuse treatment center, ECDA also serves people experiencing homelessness.
