Women In Action Reaching Out (W.I.A.R.O) provides community outreach and resource services in Long Beach and surrounding areas: food distribution open to the whole community, weekday lunches for seniors at the Carmelitos Housing kitchen, after-school snacks and suppers for up to 125 youth, meals prepared and delivered to Boys & Girls Clubs in the South Bay, and nutrition classes. It aims to open a multipurpose center offering nutrition services, mental health counseling and resources. Confirm food distribution days by phone, as the site lists conflicting days.
