Socal Animal Response Team

To respond to animal needs and assist other agencies during a disaster or crisis; to educate the public in animal care during disasters and about animal abuse; to train owners to care for their animals at home and assist neighborhood animals before, during and after a disaster.

SoCal Animal Response Team (SCART), founded in 2005, is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) that provides disaster response for animals across Southern California mutual-aid regions (Orange, Los Angeles, Riverside, San Bernardino and San Diego counties). Services include emergency animal sheltering, reunification of animals with owners during emergencies, educational workshops on animals in disasters, community outreach on disaster preparedness for pets, and public education presentations for service groups. It partners with city and county emergency services, animal control, law enforcement and fire agencies, COAD-OC and the Red Cross. Residents can become volunteers or members. It is not an animal care facility for single-family emergencies.
