To provide a safe and welcoming space for teens to find hope, nourish a sense of self and an ability to grow, and develop interests and skills to become productive members of society.
Since 1993 Save Our Youth (the SOY Center) has empowered thousands of low-income, at-risk youth from the Newport-Mesa Unified School District and provided more than $5 million in scholarships to first-generation college students. Programs include a college-bound program, academic tutoring, student leadership, dance/arts/music, sports and fitness, health and wellness, community service, career development, summer programs, and scholarships. Volunteers and donors can get involved through events such as Pickle Palooza and family fun nights.
