Pooch Match rescues dogs in need, mainly strays from low-income areas and high-kill shelters, provides veterinary care, and places them with screened adopters.
Pooch Match is a volunteer-run, Adopt-A-Pet approved dog rescue serving Orange County. It rescues mostly strays from high-kill shelters, gives them veterinary care (spay/neuter, vaccinations, microchipping, deworming) and sometimes grooming or training, and places them with screened adopters through a volunteer foster network. It holds weekly Saturday adoption events at PetSmart in Yorba Linda (1-3 p.m.), takes volunteers (dog walking, transport, socialization, adoption paperwork; students can earn community service hours), helps owners rehome pets without going to a shelter, and offers education on responsible pet ownership and spay/neuter.
