Marine Mammal Care Center Los Angeles, based in San Pedro, is the only NOAA-authorized organization responding to distressed marine mammals year-round along the LA County coastline (from Malibu to Long Beach), Catalina Island, and at sea. The center rescues and rehabilitates sick, injured, and orphaned seals and sea lions, and offers public education programs including docent-led tours and hands-on STEM experiences (S.E.A. Lab, Family Science Sunday), alongside marine conservation research.
