To increase access to quality jobs, reduce employment discrimination, and improve industries that employ Black workers through action and unionization.
The Los Angeles Black Worker Center (LABWC) is a grassroots nonprofit dedicated to improving the living and working conditions of Black workers in Los Angeles. Programs include a free Legal Clinic (law students assist workers facing employment discrimination, wage theft, and health/safety violations), Ready 2 Work workshops and coaching, a Workforce Equity Demonstration, a Stewards Council, the Southern California Black Worker Hub, and Worker Wednesday peer-support meetings.
