Since 1972, Long Beach Rescue Mission has welcomed men, women, and children with daily essentials to help them recover from homelessness, hunger, addiction, and poverty, offering the opportunity for long-term, sustained life change.

Long Beach Rescue Mission is a faith-based provider of emergency and long-term shelter, serving men at the 150-bed Samaritan House, women and children at the 50-bed Lydia House, and men with disabilities at the 15-bed John and Helen Apostle House. Daily services include approximately 650 hot meals, 160+ emergency shelter stays, a one-year New Life recovery program for substance abuse and life-plan rebuilding (about 70 participants), learning centers offering life skills and career training (50,000+ hours annually), chapel and spiritual support, and mobile outreach.
