A radio-controlled soaring club, founded in 1962, whose members fly gliders, compete in regional contests, and welcome new members.
Harbor Soaring Society is an AMA-chartered (Charter #128) radio-controlled glider club, the oldest chartered soaring club in the AMA. Members fly winch-launch, discus-launch, bungee/hi-start and free-flight gliders at Fairview Park in Costa Mesa on the first and third Saturdays of each month (weather permitting, non-powered gliders only). The club hosts at least one contest each year. First lessons are free: the club provides the airplane, radios, batteries and instructor.
