Black Health Equity Collaborative (BHEC) began as an informal collaborative of Black-serving provider agencies and nonprofit/for-profit small businesses formed to promote health and wellness among Long Beach's Black residents and reduce COVID-19 impact and mortality. It has since grown into an established 501(c)(3) and was a guiding influence on the City of Long Beach's health equity funding opportunities.
