To provide emergency financial assistance within 24 hours to single parents/caregivers of children and young adults with catastrophic or life-threatening illnesses who are in financial crisis.
Founded in 2000 by Valerie Sobel in memory of her son Andre, the Andre Sobel River of Life Foundation runs the 'Compassion Can't Wait' family assistance program, delivering rapid emergency grants to single caregivers facing a child's catastrophic illness, operating through a network of roughly a dozen pediatric hospitals nationwide.
