Advocates For Grandparent Grandchild Connection

Newport Beach, CA · Orange County · Human Services

AFGGC provides support, information, and education to grandparents experiencing visitation issues with a grandchild, helping preserve family bonds after divorce, a parent's death, or family estrangement.

Founded in 2006 by Susan Hoffman in Newport Beach after her own visitation struggles, AFGGC raises awareness of denied grandparent visitation and its emotional impact on children, and helped write California legislation providing grandparents the right to seek visitation with a grandchild adopted by a stepparent. Offerings include support groups, the books 'Grand Wishes' and 'Grand Distance,' the documentary 'A Precious Bond,' and one-on-one consultation on communication strategies as an alternative to litigation.
