Ebony Repertory Theatre (ERT) is the only African American professional theatre company (Actors' Equity) in Los Angeles. Founded in 2007 by Wren T. Brown and the late Israel Hicks, ERT transforms lives through the magic of theatre, presenting award-winning productions alongside music, dance, and lecture series programming.

Ebony Repertory Theatre is the resident company and operator of the Nate Holden Performing Arts Center, a 400-seat regional theatre in Los Angeles' Mid-City community. Since its founding in 2007, ERT has staged professional theatrical productions centering African American stories and artists, supplemented by a music series, dance series, and lecture series. The organization engages donors, volunteers, and patrons through membership programs and offers its venue for community and rental use.
