Increase awareness of contemporary Greek culture through cinema, developing film projects from Greece, Cyprus, and the Balkans/Mediterranean while supporting filmmakers via screenings, education, and networking.
Founded in 2006 as the Balkan Cultural Center, the organization operates the Los Angeles Greek Film Festival (LAGFF), which has screened over 580 films and hosted over 530 filmmakers over roughly 20 years. Since 2023 it has also run the Global Greek Film Initiative (GGFI) and launched a documentary-focused festival (LAGFF-doc) in 2026. Programming includes film screenings, educational programming, and industry networking events centered on Greek and Balkan cinema.
