826LA is dedicated to unlocking and cultivating the creative power of writing for students ages 6 to 18, and to helping teachers inspire their students to write.
826LA is a nonprofit writing and tutoring organization serving over 7,000 Los Angeles students annually through two writing labs in Mar Vista and Echo Park plus school partnerships. Programs include free after-school tutoring, evening and weekend workshops, in-school programs, field trips, college-access support for English language learners, and student publishing. It is part of the national 826 network founded by Dave Eggers and Ninive Calegari.
