SCPHA aims to improve the health of people in Southern California by working with public health and other agencies in health promotion and disease prevention activities, while providing professional development opportunities and advocating for public health policy.
SCPHA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and affiliate of the American Public Health Association (APHA), established 1927, serving Southern California. It provides public health leadership and community health protection initiatives, professional education on current public health issues, policy advocacy, community collaboration, health assessment/assurance/policy consultation, and technical assistance for research and programs.
